Affirmation: I Deserve a Life of Peace and Stability.

Updated: Sep 27, 2024

I love the affirmation ‘I deserve a life of peace and stability’ because it’s a reminder that no matter what physical possessions I have, nothing can compare to a stable life and peace of mind. Of course, the idea of peace and stability is different for each of us, as we all have desires that reflect what peace and

stability are. However you envision peace and stability in your life, I am here to remind you that you DESERVE it! Perhaps this affirmation isn’t a reminder, but a declaration to let yourself know that you deserve peace and stability.

When life becomes difficult it’s hard to find peace whether it is mental, emotional, or situational peace. Even when life's stressors begin to seem unbearable, it’s important not to let those things trick you into believing that you can’t or don’t deserve peace and stability. Peace is a state of undisturbed joy. Joy is the ultimate happiness from within that God gives us. Joy doesn’t mean that we may not be going through a difficult time or that we are not experiencing sadness, it is just the feeling of knowing that whatever you’re going through, you’re okay because you have peace, which then brings you joy. In other words, you know that no weapons formed against you will prosper, even when the attempt of those weapons impacts you.

Creating a life of peace and stability has to be intentional. With all of the chaos in the world, it is easy to find ourselves wrapped up in worldly things, and those things can begin to take a toll on us. Without proper intentions, focus, and discipline it is easy to be led astray and to let our current situations consume us.

So, how do you begin to create peace and stability in life?

I. Create and Maintain a Strong Prayer Life.

So much joy is created and bestowed upon you when you give all of your problems to God. To do so, you must be in constant communication with him. Because we are all God’s children, he will give us grace and mercy, however, there is work to be done on our part, and being in communication with God through prayer is the only way to truly know what God has in store for you. There truly is no need to worry about things that we cannot control physically, instead pray about all things and God will grant you clarity and peace of mind.

II. Peace is a Mindset.

To have peace you must choose peace. That means operating out of peace and love no matter the circumstances. If you wake up in the morning expecting wonderful things to happen, even when you’re faced with adversities throughout the day, you can still find peace and joy in those adverse situations. Don’t allow others to bring you to their level of misery, when you are operating out of love and peace, stay there, in hopes that you can pass the infection of peace and love to those you encounter.

III. Stability Starts with a Plan.

Once you’ve created a peaceful environment for yourself spiritually and mentally, you can begin to create a physically stable place for yourself. Whatever stability you’re chasing, make a plan and execute it. Your plan could include finding a new job to bring in more money for a more financially stable life, moving closer to family and friends to provide yourself with a more emotionally and/or socially stable life, or even moving to a location that brings you spiritual stability by uplifting you mentally.

Figure out the steps you need to take to get you to your next level of stability and work out your plan. Don’t be discouraged when things are not going according to plan, instead pray and seek guidance and maneuver around the obstacle set in front of you.

IV. Change Your Environment.

There are times when the peace and/or the stability we are craving from life is being hindered by our physical environment. It is important to recognize when the environment that you are in is not conducive to your growth or well-being. This means you may have to change your job, where you live, your school, and maybe your favorite hang-out spots.

Acknowledging that some environmental changes cannot happen overnight, therefore you must continue to dwell in that space that could be hindering you. Stay strong and know that the change you are hoping for will happen eventually, most importantly don’t allow a toxic environment to hinder you from having true peace.

V. Embrace Change and Accept Your New Normal.

Unexpected and unpleasant life changes can make it harder for us to find peace and stability in the current situation we may be experiencing. However, to have peace you must let go of the past and let go of what you think your life should look like in this moment. Embrace your new journey and know that difficult things won’t last always. Practice gratefulness and appreciation for where you are currently and embrace these times with a mindset of growth and learning. Once you can accept things for how they are now, you will be able to find peace in the ugliest of situations. In those moments when you’re asking ‘God, why me?’ Instead ask ‘God, what is it that you want me to learn and gain from this experience?’. Remember when you feel like things are happening to you, things are happening for you.

A life of peace and stability is one that we all deserve. Just because we deserve something, doesn’t mean it will come easy. Creating and maintaining a life of peace and stability takes work and discipline, but just like all great things it is well worth it. If you’re working towards creating a better life for yourself, keep going! Your breakthrough will come soon, be intentional and put yourself in a position to receive the life you want. If you are busy maintaining the life of peace and stability you created, what are some ways you manage to keep going when life becomes a little disruptive? Share some encouraging words and experiences that will keep us all motivated. I can’t wait to hear from you!
