How to Affirm and Walk in the Expectancy of Your Blessings.
New year, new mindset! As we are getting acclimated to the new year, we must shift our mindset to receive the things we truly want out of life. Those things can be a new job, a newfound purpose, home ownership, or maybe starting a family. Whatever blessing you are longing for this year, I want you to claim it and walk with authority as if the blessing is already yours, because it is!
Affirming that your blessing(s) is yours doesn’t end with just claiming it. As you’ve heard it before, faith without work is DEAD! So, here are some ways to prepare for a year of abundant blessings.
Start with God
Aligning your purpose with God is the best way to receive the blessings God so desperately wants you to have. Praying and being in constant conversation with God will guide your footsteps that will lead you into your destiny.
Stay consistent in your prayer life and that will strengthen your bond with God. A strong relationship with God results in spiritual discernment, which then will lead to the desires of your heart aligning with God’s purpose for your life.
Set SMART Goals
SMART goals are defined as specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timely. Setting SMART goals is the best way to see progress and achieve the goals you’ve set. This allows the opportunity for reflection, accountability, and possibly adjustment to continue to achieve your goal.
Perhaps you set goals previously, but didn’t achieve them; revisit those goals! It’s okay to keep the same goal and alter the strategy. Keep trying until you reach the success you are longing for!
“You are on the eve of a complete victory. You can’t go wrong. The world is behind you.” – Josephine Baker.
Walk in Expectation
If you expect great things to happen, great things will happen! Maintaining a positive mindset through adversity will allow you to see the blessings and greatness in even the worst circumstances.
Walking in expectation coincides with having great faith. Faith is the unequivocal belief that things will work out in your favor. If you believe it, expect it, and put forth the effort … it’s BOUND to happen!
Do the work
To whom much is given, much is required. It’s important to understand that although anticipated blessings that have manifested in the physical are joyous to experience, we must also know that more blessings require more work. Just as it is expected to do the work to get the blessings, the expectation is still prevalent to KEEP the blessings.
Blessings require work. Showing up for God and what he has called you to do is the foundation of receiving blessings and being blessed. Until you prove to God that you are ready to handle the magnitude of the blessing he has for you (because he has a blessing for ALL of us), he will not release that blessing to protect his children from destruction. Show up, do the work, be CONSISTENT, and glorify his name.
All in all, God has a blessing for each of us that is directly attached to our purpose in life. The ability to receive and maintain that blessing depends on the work, determination, and sacrifices we are willing to make. Get out of your way and receive all of the blessings that are waiting for you!
Stay encouraged.
